Second Star to the Right

Traveling and being away from the family can be difficult at times. When you are not right there with your family, life continues. Last night was the first evening of our children's community theatre production of "Peter Pan". Our six year is making his debut on the stage in the role of "Skunk" one of the lost boys. Our oldest son is also a lost boy - "Fox". Our younger son has a larger speaker role, and Tiffanney explained it was due to Skunk's age. As our mature 5th grader then shared, "I'll be his acting coach. I also think it would be a good idea to be an understudy for other parts because mine would be easy to recast.

Our little Skunk has taken his role seriously. After the first rehearsal, he asked the director how she planned to have the lost boys fall out of the ship into the sea. That's my boy - always thinking ahead. In the education world, we call that situational awareness.
